The 50-year average annual snowfall for Boone is 41.2 inches, but Dr. Ray Russell of RaysWeather.com predicts that snowfall over the 2009-2010 winter will total 45 inches in Boone, 50 inches in Banner Elk and 90 inches in Beech Mountain.
