Dr. Michael Hannah, director of Lees-McRae College's upcoming production of Urinetown, assures you, "Don't let the title fool you...it's not a dirty play."
Lees-McRae College Performing Arts department invites you to Urinetown The Musical, the three time Tony Award winning production of Mark Hollman and Greg Kotis. This musical delight will be a sure-fire hit with audiences as it parodies many popular musicals and theatrical conventions all while making fun of itself. The show will have you laughing at gags and humming memorable tunes days after the performance!
Brought to life through the direction of Dr. Michael Hannah, Urinetown is a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. Urinetown The Musical shows a time of corporate greed in a desperate Gotham-like city where all the toilets are controlled and tolled without concern for the poor, bladder-oppressed masses.
With a creative set and lighting design by Danielle Curtis and colorful costumes by Dr. Tessa Carr, the cast will have you bent double with laughter as they tell the story through hysterical song and dance.
Show dates are March 19 - 23 at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, March 21 at 2 pm. All performances are in Hayes Auditorium on the Lees-McRae College campus in Banner Elk.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children and students. Tickets will be available at the door one hour prior to show time. All seats are general admission. There is no reserved seating.

| Landscape Educational Workshop |

The Avery and Watauga County Cooperative Extension Centers and the North Carolina Horticulture Association will sponsor a landscape educational workshop on Friday, March 19, beginning with registration at 8:30 AM at the BH Corpening Forestry Training Facility in Crossnore. Topics will including calibration, finance management, accounting and much more. The cost is $12 per person and includes lunch and informational handouts. Saturday, March 20th, is their last day of operation, with a closing celebration that includes pond skimming. Rates will remain at $20 for a day and $10 for a half day. Come enjoy our great slope conditions for an unbeatable price!!!! The entire mountain is wide open as of 3/12/10.

| Sugar Mountain's Easter Egg Hunt |

Dress up in your Easter costume and come join Sugar Bear and Sweetie Bear on the slopes in search of prize filled eggs. There may even be an egg containing a season pass! Valid lift/slope tickets or passes are required for participation. Event is for children 12 and under ONLY and begins at 9am at the bottom of Summit #1 lift. Please call for additional details.
